Eleanor Thom is a comedy writer, actor and producer.


Originally from Sheffield, she studied Film & Theatre at Manchester University. Whilst at Manchester she set up the comedy night Just For A Laugh which transferred to The Comedy Store in 2008 to sell-out crowds. 


Eleanor created the critically acclaimed and award-winning

sketch group Lady Garden. Their debut show at Edinburgh

Festival in August 2008 was at The Gilded Balloon and they

returned in 2009, 2010 and 2011 at The Pleasance.

From 2008-2012 Eleanor wrote, produced and performed in

Lady Garden. They toured extensively throughout the UK including

performances at Sheffield, Manchester & Brighton Comedy Festivals,

and latterly Glastonbury and Latitude Festivals. In 2012 they were one

of the a resident acts on both Live At The Electric (BBC3, Series 1)

and Sketchorama (BBC Radio 4)


In 2013 Eleanor made her solo debut at Edinburgh Festival;

‘Eleanor Thom: I Am Bev’ played at The Pleasance Courtyard

to sell out audiences and critical acclaim.

Eleanor is also writes for Standard Issue Magazine, and works as an editor/contributor on comedians books and live shows.

As an actress Eleanor has appeared in Absolutely Fabulous (BBC1), Drifters (E4), Upstairs Downstairs Abbey for Comic Relief (BBC1), award- winning short film Asylum Seekers and improvised short films I Am Bev.
